As Sanlorenzo Arts celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2026, Sanlorenzo APAC marks five years of partnership with Hong Kong Ballet with an exclusive, full-costume technical rehearsal viewing at the Grand Theatre
The year 2026 marks a major milestone: 10 Years of Sanlorenzo Arts, a global program dedicated to championing contemporary culture, design, and artistic expression worldwide. Within this global framework, Sanlorenzo APAC’s initiatives bring this vision to life locally, most notably through its enduring collaboration with Hong Kong Ballet.
Five years ago, Sanlorenzo APAC became a Corporate Patron of Hong Kong Ballet, making history as the first yachting company in Asia to establish a strategic partnership with a major performing arts institution. Born from a shared belief that haute horlogerie, naval architecture, and the performing arts all share a common devotion to precision, aesthetic excellence, and craftsmanship, this initiative has grown into a deeply meaningful and enduring relationship.
Over the seasons, Sanlorenzo APAC has offered its guests rare, behind-the-scenes access to the world of dance—from private studio visits and intimate conversations with principal dancers and choreographers to exclusive preview access. Last year, guests went behind the curtain of Frida under the guidance of choreographer Annabelle Lopez Ochoa, Executive Director Heidi Lee, and Ballet Master Luis Torres.
An Exclusive Grand Theatre Experience: The Sleeping Beauty
To mark five years of partnership, Sanlorenzo APAC recently hosted a select group of guests for an elevated rehearsal experience. Unlike traditional studio visits, this year’s event took place on the main stage of the Grand Theatre at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre, allowing guests to watch a full-costume technical rehearsal of Act One of The Sleeping Beauty.
Representing one of Hong Kong Ballet’s most ambitious productions in recent years, this new world premiere is choreographed by Vladimir Malakhov, former Artistic Director of the Berlin State Ballet. Set to Tchaikovsky’s timeless score, the production features striking new sets and costumes designed by Jordi Roig (who previously collaborated on La Bayadère in 2023).
Running from 29 May to 7 June 2026, the performance showcases international guest principals including Davi Ramos, Maia Makhateli, Tirion Law, and Elizaveta Kokoreva, with Malakhov himself taking the stage as the Wicked Fairy Carabosse in select performances.
Through events like The Sleeping Beauty technical rehearsal, Sanlorenzo APAC continues to redefine luxury engagement, connecting passion for design and maritime heritage with the transformative power of world-class performing arts.
