Sanlorenzo Asia-Pacific has confirmed its continuation as a corporate supporter of the M+ Museum, reinforcing its commitment to artistic engagement and cultural dialogue in the Asia-Pacific region.
The partnership, which started in 2024 when Sanlorenzo APAC became the first yachting company to support M+ in a corporate capacity, facilitates exclusive programming by connecting the yacht owner community with Hong Kong’s premier contemporary art institution.
Building on a Year of Cultural Engagement
The partnership’s inaugural year was marked by a distinctive approach to client engagement centred on artistic experience. In May 2025, Sanlorenzo APAC hosted a select group of clients for an exclusive evening at M+ for the landmark exhibition ‘Picasso for Asia: A Conversation’. The event began with a cocktail reception at the M+ Lounge, overlooking Victoria Harbour, with opening addresses from Daniele Lucà, CEO of Simpson Marine and Sanlorenzo APAC, and Doryun Chong, Artistic Director and Chief Curator of M+.
A private curator-led tour of the ‘Picasso for Asia’ exhibition brought together over sixty works by Picasso from the Musée National Picasso-Paris alongside more than eighty works by Asian and Asian-diasporic artists from M+ Collections.
The exhibition explored fundamental questions about artistic influence, adaptation, and cultural exchange—themes that resonate deeply with Sanlorenzo’s own philosophy of drawing inspiration from diverse design traditions whilst maintaining a distinctive Italian sensibility. The curator’s guided experience allowed guests to explore these curatorial conversations in an intimate setting, with expert commentary illuminating the dialogues between Picasso’s legacy and the evolving narratives of Asian modern and contemporary art.
2026 Highlights
M+’s 2026 programme features standout exhibitions including Lee Bul: From 1998 to Now (March–August), a major survey of the Korean artist’s utopian visions; Ryuichi Sakamoto: seeing sound, hearing time (February–July), an immersive installation celebrating the composer’s async legacy with Shiro Takatani; and Myths, Monsters, and Manga (October 2026–April 2027), tracing fantasy across Asian visual culture from ukiyo-e to anime, enriching client experiences through exclusive access to world-class cultural narratives. Sanlorenzo APAC clients will have a chance to enjoy exclusive previews, VIP passes, and privatised visits to these exhibitions throughout the year.
WestK Quay: Enabling Seamless Yachting-Art Event
The recently opened WestK Quay—located directly adjacent to M+ within the West Kowloon Cultural District—has transformed Hong Kong’s cultural waterfront into a yachting-accessible destination. This development creates unprecedented opportunities for yachting-art events. Sanlorenzo Asia-Pacific can now organise events that merch yachting followed by visit to M+, with drop-off mere minutes from M+’s entrance, facilitating seamless transitions from sea to exhibition spaces.
The continuation of this partnership signals both parties’ commitment to a relationship grounded in authentic cultural values. The partnership’s continuation into 2026 signals an intention to develop the relationship further, with additional programmes anticipated throughout the year.
