Sanlorenzo APAC has been named a winner at the China Awards 2025, receiving recognition in the Capital Elite, Hong Kong SAR – Sustainability category.

The award was presented on 3 December at a ceremony in Milan, where Simone Bruckner, Sanlorenzo’s R&D Director, accepted the distinction on behalf of the company. The China Awards, conferred by a jury including the Italy China Council Foundation, the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and CCPIT, recognise excellence across Italian and international business.

Sustainability as a Strategic Priority

The recognition reflects Sanlorenzo’s commitment to its “Road to 2030” strategy—a formal corporate target to deliver the first carbon-neutral-powered yacht by the decade’s end. The shipyard’s sustainability efforts include manufacturing decarbonisation, with photovoltaic installations across three primary production facilities in Italy achieving 45 percent self-generated renewable electricity by 2024. This is alongside propulsion innovation, achieved through strategic partnerships with global technology leaders.

Recent developments demonstrate tangible progress. The 2024 delivery of the first 50Steel superyacht incorporated a modular Fuel Cell system developed with Siemens Energy, enabling silent, emission-free anchoring.

Sanlorenzo also unveiled the ambitious 50 X-Space in January 2025—the world’s first bi-fuel green methanol yacht, created with MAN, which is capable of reducing navigation emissions by up to 70 percent.

The award holds particular meaning for Sanlorenzo’s Asia-Pacific operations. The region represents a growth market where owner expectations increasingly align with environmental consciousness in both design and performance.
